Meet at the English Heritage car park for the Silchester Roman walls, RG7 2HP, on the south side of Wall Lane. (No charge.) We will inspect the walls, which form a weathered limestone outcrop, offering shelter for a selection of mosses and liverworts, plus various plants and invertebrates. The walk is about 3 miles.
