Below are a small selection from Ken\u2019s recordings (he retains the copyright) made at Plastow Green, on the southern side of the Enborne valley on the Hampshire \u2013 Berkshire border. It is an area of intensive arable farming in fields with good hedgerows, together with a little livestock (beef and sheep). There are a scattering of&nbsp;small copses and occasional&nbsp;large gardens.&nbsp;Ken has provided a list to accompany each recording and he has added a letter after each species name, with <strong><u>S<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;for song,&nbsp;<strong><u>C<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;for contact calls and&nbsp;<strong><u>A<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;for alarm calls. The&nbsp;<strong>highlighted species<\/strong>&nbsp;feature prominently in each file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color wp-block-paragraph\">The first recording, made on 19 April, features\u00a0<strong>Lesser Whitethroat\/S<\/strong>\u00a0 (chatter &amp; rattles)&#8211;<strong>Chiffchaff\/S&#8211;<\/strong>Pheasant\/S&#8211;Blackbird\/S&#8211;Rook\/C&#8211;Robin\/S. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/rdnhs.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/KW_0419_073534_1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second recording, made on 23 April, features <strong>Cuckoo\/S<\/strong>&#8211;Robin\/S&#8211;<strong>Goldcrest\/S<\/strong>&#8211;Great Tit\/S&#8211;Song Thrush\/S&#8211;Chaffinch\/A&#8211;Blackbird\/S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/rdnhs.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/KW_0423_063656_1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third recording, made on 24 April, includes the star of the show \u2013 a rare passing Hoopoe.
