{"id":2064,"date":"2013-03-27T04:26:34","date_gmt":"2013-03-27T09:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rdnhs.org.uk\/blog\/?p=2064"},"modified":"2013-03-27T04:26:34","modified_gmt":"2013-03-27T09:26:34","slug":"fishlock-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rdnhs.org.uk\/blog\/fishlock-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Fishlock Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday 25 March, the Vice-President of Reading and District Natural History Society, Professor Chris Bucke, presented a cheque for \u00a3180.74 from the Society&#8217;s Fishlock Fund to the <a title=\"BBOWT\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbowt.org.uk\/woolley-firs-environmental-education-centre\" target=\"_blank\">Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT)<\/a> at their Woolley Firs Environmental Education Centre near Maidenhead. Walter Fishlock (1875 \u2013 1959) was a long-serving Secretary and former President of the Society. A fund was set up in his memory to encourage the study and enjoyment of natural history by children under 12 years of age.
