DESCRIPTION:An introduction to their enormous variety\, function\, and occasional use for us. \nSpeaker: Martin Woolner (Wild Maidenhead) \nOak apples\, Robin’s pin cushions\, Witches’ brooms … are all found around Berkshire along with hundreds of others\, each specific to their host plant. They are parasites offering no benefit to the plant\, but generally doing no harm either\, and have been collected through the ages and used as ink (the Magna Carta was written in oak gall ink) and for medicine. \nMembers receive a zoom link in the monthly newsletter.
