The Wednesday morning walks, which are a steady 4 to 5 miles in length, are of general interest, with the option of a pub drink and meal afterwards. Field meetings are more focused on an area or specific flora or fauna.

The Warren at Tidgrove

Meet at Tidgrove (RG25 3EN) by kind invitation of Raleigh Place, who has a habitat creation scheme under Higher Level Stewardship and manages his land to encourage breeding Stone Curlews, Lapwings and other birds and butterflies. Uncultivated areas are reverting to chalk grassland. There is a newly-created lake and a rich arable flora including Venus’s-looking-glass, Dense-flowered Fumitory and Red Hemp-nettle.
