The NNR is signposted off the A32 at Warnford. Meet in the car park (SU646214) on Hayden Lane. The reserve of chalk download and woodland has a rich chalk flora including the rare Round-headed Rampion (not found in Berkshire), butterflies such as Dark Green Fritillary and Chalkhill Blue and farmland birds. Circular walk of 2.5 miles with steep slopes, rampions on the hill fort can be accessed via level ground. Bring picnic lunch to eat during the walk; if time permits we could visit another local reserve afterwards. No facilities at the NNR but a café and pub both open at 9am in nearby West Meon village.
