Fungus Foray at Heath Lake, Crowthorne
Saturday October 17 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
The reserve has a lake, wet and dry woodland and an area of open heath. Bring a hand lens if you have one.
N.B. The starting point for this walk has changed from the one that was advertised in our winter programme. Mike has learned that the reserve car park will be closed for resurfacing on the day of the walk. Instead, we will be meeting at the old road near the roundabout at the NE corner of the reserve at SU831655. The roundabout is at the junction of the B3430 (Nine Mile Ride) and New Wokingham Road. Coming from the north, east or west, turn southwards at the roundabout in the direction signed to Crowthorne. After about 20 yards, there are 30mph signs. Immediately after the 30mph sign, turn sharply left onto the old road, a relic from before the roundabout was built. Park on the left, or on the verge on the left under the trees. Booking essential. There are two walks one in the morning (10:30) and one in the afternoon (14:00). Strictly members only. If you have any queries please contact us.
