The coach trip this year will be to Durlston National Nature Reserve near Swanage on Saturday 4 May 2019. On the cliffs, we should see nesting seabirds such as Guillemots, Razorbills and Fulmars, while in the fields above the Coast Path, there should be Early Spider-orchids, Green-winged Orchids, Early-purple Orchids and other spring flowers and butterflies. Durlston Country Park has a Visitor Centre with seabird-viewing cameras, a café and toilets. The coast path is very steep in places, but those wanting a less strenuous day could stroll down to the best seabird-viewing points, walk down the road to the lighthouse, or walk through the fields at the top of the Country Park. Please see Durlston Country Park website . The cost of the coach trip is £27. Priority will be given to members of the Society, but we may have spaces for a few friends as well. The letter and booking form for the coach trip can be found HERE.
